Thanks to some serious white-hat hacking techniques I was able to retrieve most of the messages of the old defunct guestbook. Meanwhile I converted them to a data format that is compatible with the format of the new guestbook, one by one, a mind-numbing chore but sure worth the effort.
Unfortunately, 10 of the 188 old messages could not be retrieved. My apologies if your message got lost, but it's not my fault. We relied on a professional service that went down the drain.

Message: Visited on 8/11/2016 on our way to the Beaver Island group. Met camper-keepers Bruce and Kathy Rollins. If possible, I'd like their e-mail address. Bruce gave it to me but what I wrote down doesn't seem to be correct. Anyway, it was an interesting tour and I'm glad we stopped.

Message: Good afternoon, My name is Michael Nelson. I am the great grandson of keeper Nels Nelson. Growing up I heard numerous stories relating to the island. I am a bit of a history buff and I am going to start going through old family photos and documents to share with the association if you would like. My Grandfather Melvin Nelson who later in life retired from the USCG was ten years old at the time of my Great Grandfathers start date. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Many visitors may have noticed that our guestbook stopped working in June 2015. It was run by an external company that once bragged on its Website that it was hosting more than a quarter million guestbooks. However, they didn't answer any of more than 20 emails asking them to fix the problem.
Since we couldn't even access the administration area of the FILA guestbook account, we were unable to retrieve all the messages posted by hundreds of visitors in the course of 11 1/2 years. Sad but true.
Okay, now here comes the all new FILA Guestbook. It is located on the same servers that host our entire Website, and it is fully accessible to authorized FILA staff.
Besides quite a bit of boiler-plate program material, this guestbook contains a lot of program coded by the FILA Webmaster. It's in its infancy, and teething problems may occur. In case you find a malfunction, please let us know so we can correct it.
